Film ending

In my original story line for 'The Woods' we were going end the story by killing off the second victim. I thought killing the main character so early in a story may destroy any connections the audience may develop with the character and dis-encourage them to watch the whole film. To avoid this I filmed a shot of the killer hitting the victim but then being struck in the head by a stick found on the ground nearby the victim which allowed the him to escape. I found killing off the first victim a little tricky as we didn't have any fake blood. I overcame this by shooting shots of the killers upper body as he strikes down at the victim.
