Reseaching SLASHER locations

Location with the slasher films are usually set in isolated places such as on islands, deep in forests, small towns, abandoned buildings and farms.

The killer may have a some kind of connection with the location such as from a tragic event or just live/frequently visit. The location is usually low populated, far away from the cities and usually difficult to locate or find by the police when victim requests.

The killer was distance his victims away from others by cutting the phone or electrical lines, disabling communication devices and destroying their ways of escape such as car. This can allow the killer to freely kill his victims without worrying any the disturbance from an outsider.

A good example for that is Saw, set in a limited surrounding no sight of doors or window all suggest a feeling of claustrophobia and that is the main location because mainly the audience would be pondering on how the characters are going to escape.
